We protect school records at rest using standard **AES-256 encryption** algorithms. During transfer (e.g. teachers loading test scores, parents checking report cards), all data is encrypted in transit using **TLS 1.3 protocol** to prevent interception.
Gradenest is a processor, not an owner. Your student directories, exam results, and contact rosters belong strictly to your school. You can export complete database files in standard formats (CSV, Excel) instantly.
When a school requests data deletion, we follow strict scrubbing procedures. Active database partitions are purged within 48 hours, and backups are rotated and written over within 30 days to ensure data is permanently removed.
To guarantee zero grade loss, we perform automated hourly incremental database saves. Full system snapshots are generated daily and stored in isolated secondary cloud data zones.
We perform automated restoration drill audits monthly to verify backups are clean, uncorrupted, and can be brought live in under 15 minutes in case of emergency.
